Eleanor Nairne is a freelance curator, writer and researcher based in London. She spent eighteen months working as the Research Assistant on the Barbican’s acclaimed exhibition The Surreal House, while also studying for her Masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art. After graduating with a distinction she continued to guide tours around the exhibition, taking corporate clients, such as Clifford Chance and Linklaters, as well as hosting evening events. She has previously given the public lecture at the Whitechapel on Goshka Macuga’s installation, The Nature of The Beast, a project on which she worked closely with the artist in compiling archival research. In the past she has led a series of Time Out First Thursday tours, and has worked for three consecutive years for Frieze and private patrons, offering bespoke tours of the art fair. Eleanor was a contributor to the Yale catalogue on The Surreal House; she continues to write reviews and features for Frieze and www.thisistomorrow.info.
